Why does the colour of School Bus is Yellow? Reason for it- Simple Answer for this Question

We have observed and seen most of the buses of school are of yellow color, then there arose a new question in our mind that “why the color is yellow for school buses”. The Answer to this question is that yellow is more attractive and people gives more attention to this color as compared to red. 

However, the signs of signals are red and the color of the traffic signals which are for stop the vehicle is “Red”.  This makes the people to think that the red color is more attractive and gives more attention to the people.

But according to the scientist, the yellow color is more attractive as compared to the red color. If we are driving a car in straight forward road and we are focusing forward, then color (Yellow) at the right and left corner makes us to look towards yellow object.

According to research, people are able to see the yellow color in their peripheral region. And they are able to see the yellow color 1.24 times better than that of red color. Yellow color is more attractive in a dark than that of red color.

These all the reasons that the yellow color of school buses is chosen. Not only buses, heavy vehicles are also yellow painted and they are easily observable. These are yellow painted because these are heavy machinery and by accident with them cause serious injuries.

Other reason is that black letters are easily read by the observer on the yellow color.

Point to be noted here is that, school buses color is not pure yellow. It is intermediate between yellow and orange. Examples of these colors are of Mangoes and Lemon
