GTO Outdoor Task - Progressive(Full) Group Task of ISSB - Guidelines and Tips

Progressive Group Task is the first Outdoor task of GTO. In out door task, GTO will observe all the candidates practically. Progressive task is a long task in which all the members of the group take part to tackle the task. In other words, whole group will take part in this task of ISSB. It is a big test to judge your performance and personality in group form. GTO will check your perfomance in ISSB Progressive Task in Team. He will observe how you work in Team and How you influence your Team mates.

Procedure of GTO Progressive(Full) Group Task in ISSB :-

After the completion of the Indoor Task, GTO will alloted you a time to change the dress. In GTO Outdoor Task in ISSB, You have to wear the white shirt and white nicker with white joggers.

After changing the dress, you have to come to the task area along with your group members. Staff in the Task area of ISSB will make your sequence along with other groups.

All the GTO will come in sequence and take their group with them to Task.Area. When your GTO ( Group Testing Officer) come, you have to follow him and he will lead you towards the Task. After reaching there, He will tell about the rules to follow in the ISSB GTO Out Door Tasks. After telling all the rules, he will asks from the candidate about any question if they have any doubt in understanding the rules.

After that he will brief about Progressive(Full) Group Task. Usually the PGT is divided into three parts. First part is easier than the second part and second part is easier than the third. It means that the difficulty level will increase with completion of stages.

Time alloted for the Progressive Group Task is nearly forty minutes. Before the the start of the Task, GTO will brief only one time before the start of the task for all the stages. So, you have to listen the GTO very carefully and note the points told by GTO.

You have to complete this task with the help of your group members in alloted time. GTO may increase your time, if you are nearly equal to complete the task.You have to complete the Task by following all the rules.

In progressive Group Task of ISSB, there is a starting line and finishing line. You have the structure between starting and Finishing Line of ISSB. You have the material which include-rope,plank (small or large or both small and large plank), drums and bamboo.
You have to utilize all the materials and resources to complete the task with group members.

GTO rules:-

GTO rules in Half Group Task in ISSB, Progressive Group Task and Command Task are same.
Following are the rules of GTO Tasks in ISSB:
  • There is a rule of Color. Usually the Red color is out of bound, Red and White Line structures are out of bound for candidate but in bound for materials. GTO will brief you about the rule before the starting of Half Group Task.
  • Jumping rule is another rule in GTO task, by this rule you cannot jump more than 4 feet or told by the GTO.
  • Out of Bound Rule is another rule, in which ground between starting and finsihing line is out of bound for you and materials. Red colored structures is also out of bound for you.

GTO Observations:-

PGT is the first GTO Outdoor Task, in this task GTO will see your performance in practical form. Not only in practical form, but also in team. He will see your team work. Your Behavior with team. How you give your ideas to the team members and he will check your influencing power.

He may check your physical fitness as the PGT is a lengthy out door Task. He can check your emotions when you are not able to utilize the resources Or How you make the resource useful. 

GTO Progressive Group Task is important Task for you to show your leader like qualities and influencing abilities are also checked by GTO.

Guideline for Candidates:-

Half group task is most important task for you, if you have not performed well in the previos tasks. The main thing of this Task is to test your ability of commanding and cooperation. It is a good chance for you to express your abilities.
It will be good for candidate to follow these guidelines;
  1. Be natural.
  2. Follow all the GTO rules, which include out of bound rule, jumping rule and  Color rule.
  3. You should be active in Task.
  4. If you have a good idea to solve the task, then share it with your group mates.
  5. Your behavior with the team members should be polite and gentle.
  6. If you have not idea to solve the task, then avoid to give useless ideas and help the others and follow who gives the best idea to tackle the obstacle.
